The Boathouse is partnering with marine conservation, research and education charity, The National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow to Buy One Set One Free (BOSOF). This collaborative scheme means together with your help, we can help raise and release baby lobsters back into our waters to help sustain fragile stocks.
A female lobster can carry in the region of 20,000 eggs under their abdomen, however only one of these is expected to survive in the wild. With skilful and careful application of modern technology the National Lobster Hatchery can improve this survival rate by about 1000 times!
We’ve added a discretionary £1 on every bill, which we match fund and send to the brilliant NLH team, enabling them to raise and release hundreds of baby lobsters back into the ocean every year, in place of those consumed. This little act of ‘Lobster Love’ makes it possible to replenish stocks and literally give back.
