The Boathouse is a waterfront restaurant and bar, specialising in seafood caught by our own boats. We’re situated overlooking the Mayflower Steps and just a stone’s throw from Plymouth’s historic Barbican.

Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00
Saturday 09:00 to 20:30
Sunday 09:00 to 17:00
Kitchen will close 1 hour before closing

Our Menus

The Boathouse serves a varied menu of fish and shellfish, caught locally by us, along with mouth-watering meat, vegan and veggie dishes - all made using fresh, locally sourced produce.

Our specials menu changes based on what's in season and what's available from our day boats. We never know what we'll catch from mackerel, cuttlefish and sea bass to crab, lobster and other local delights - what we do know is it will be sustainably caught and served fresh to you within hours.

The Scallop Shack at The Boathouse is where the scallops we catch are shucked, prepared and cooked to order by our expert chefs.

A true gem among shellfish, the scallop is prized for its delicate taste and texture. We've selected a variety of delicious ingredients and flavours for our Scallop Shack menu. Try as a super tasty starter, light bite or go for the Shack Attack, a platter to share with friends and perfect washed down with a wine from our list!

Fishmongers

Our fleet of inshore day boats, fish the local waters of the South West. Coming soon, the daily catch will be available to buy from our new wet fish counter in The Scallop Shack.

The catch varies from day to day and will be priced, based on species and the market price. Check out our social media updates to find out when the boats are landing and what's on the counter.
